Live Scan Fingerprint

Live Scan fingerprinting is the process of capturing fingerprints electronically for submission to specific agencies, archiving, or fingerprint card printing. There is no ink involved in providing a live scan fingerprinting service. Best of All our service is 100% mobile, that means that we can come to your location!

Sentri Institute staff members use our custom built live scan machines to roll your fingerprints across a glass screen. This screen captures the sequence of your fingerprints and displays them on a computer screen. Live Scan fingerprinting is a preferred method for most of our clients. The advantage of live scan fingerprinting provides a much more clear image of your fingerprints and reduces the chance for prints to be denied by any agency or department.

A trained and certified Live Scan specialist will capture fingerprints using a Live Scan system. The fingerprints are then sent securely via electronic transmission to the appropriate FBI or DOJ-certified channeling agencies for background check processing. A live scan typically takes 10 to 15 minutes, and the person taking the fingerprints will collect all appropriate fees at the time of service.

Live Scan is a form of background check required by the state and federal governments; typically for state-issued licenses, employment, or volunteer work. It is also often required for (but not limited to) people who work or volunteer in positions of trust for populations such as vulnerable citizenry, the elderly, dependent adults and children. The government will check submitted fingerprints against its database to retrieve an individual’s criminal record.
